Don't follow the app coordinates. From Otara Rd, turn left on Peka Rd.
We didn't find it. When we went back we spoke with locals. Continue in Peka road until the end.
It is open and really nice! A bit slippery when wet but easy walk. The green boulders in the middle of the forest are magical.
It’s CLOSE now :(
From Otara rd, 5km drive. Go first road to the left (instead of right). Follow 5km gravel rd. Through the gate you will find the carpark. Follow green signs.
Couldn’t find it..
Really awesome. The drive in and the river are just as great, if not better, than the boulders themselves. The direction on google maps are way off. It’s close to 5k back on the gravel road.
Amazing hidden spot ! The boulders are mysterious! Happy to have discovered this place! Nice walk in the middle of sheep fields, about 20min to reach the forest Follow the gravel road for a long time, trust the green signs on the road and not the localisation of Campermate
Were there today. Very nice walk. Walk over the meadow past the sheep and then down the cliffs (steep, but no problems). The stones are at the end of the path in a small forest. Today we had a tree in the middle of the road. The branches have broken off, so that our campervan fit. Hope that helps others :) The gravel road must be followed for a long time. The app does not specify the correct breakpoint. But everything is visible on green signs. $ 5 donation / entrance to a small cottage at the beginning of the walk.
Very nice and beautiful place to visit! We met the owner of the property and his lovely sheep. He was a pleasure to talk to. He even offered us a ride around his property
