We stayed in the premium sites after reading other reviews that say the cheaper option would not be much cheaper after paying for showers and very glad we took this advice! Great little spot with views of the river, nice cafe/restaurant to grab a drink, unlimited water showers but not the strongest water pressure, wifi doesn’t reach all spots but very rural so to be expected, quiet and peaceful. Nice walks nearby.

1. No wifi available at this site - you have to go across the bridge to the Riverside campground to use the wifi. 2. Hot showers are NOT included - you must use a credit card to swipe the reader inside the shower $4.50/? min 3. Lots of unmarked space across several areas.

We booked due to positive reviews and the cheaper price. Although we showed up and it was full of younger boys half dressed being loud and facilities were not pleasant at all. After paying for showers it would be only $3 more to stay in the lovely premium one across the road. With free warm showers and lovely small area enclosed. The cafe and bar across the water is brilliant! When in office I strongly advice you book premium.

A peaceful site on the bank of the Rangitikei river (2 areas - the smaller grassy area [5-10 unmarked plots] is mid-way down to the river where the larger [10-15 unmarked plots] is a grassy/gravel area down on the river bank. 2. Hot shower (1 per gender) is good, but NOT free ($4.50 for 7 minutes payable by credit card using PayWave) 3. NO WiFi at this site >> need to go to the holiday park 200m up the road/river to access it (free) 4. Mobile signal is weak.

Great quiet spot clean kitchen clean hot shower and toilets would recommend for a stop 8/10

Happy to recommend this site, the surroundings are cool, the riververy cold and the facilities good and clean. Could be considered expensive compared to some, but we werehappy to pay for the location and 'free' showers

What a beautiful campsite! The staff were friendly and helpful, and our powered site faced the spectacular siltstone/mudstone cliffs and river. A folksy vibe but with all the amenities we could have hoped for — including some useful pots & pans (& the showers were nice too). A real gem of a campsite.

Best place ever!!! Beautiful sites and scenery, staff is amazingly friendly and the food is great! Took us on a rafting cruise…! Great for kids!

Nicest campsite we’ve stayed in on north island. The most beautiful scenery. We were the only people camping and was so peaceful. Overlooks the river, which you can swim in. Cafe serves lovely coffee and drinks in the evening. Facilities were all clean and easy to use. Couldn’t recommend enough.
