Opted for this over the free one at the caves and it was the best things we’ve ever done! We arrived and said hi to the goats! Went for a walk around the big beautiful campsite. Went for a bounce on one of the trampolines. Found a swimming spot and went in - didn’t find the friendly eel but it was gorgeous anyway! Then had a ($2) warm shower before getting a glow worm tour. We were the only ones booked so it was like a private tour. Not enough space to write about how magical this was. 10/10

Very average. Huge campsite, nice and quiet with plenty of walks and the caves are a bonus that I would recommend. You need big spray. Nice well equipped kitchen However for the size of camp there was only one toilet and one shower. I was in camp c whether it’s different on the other sites but for a camp that big I would expect more toilets and showers. Nobody wants to be standing in a line of 5, in the morning for a toilet.

This is an amazing campsite, especially for children. Lots to do and see and such a chill environment if you want to relax

The family who runs the campsite is incredibly kind and welcoming. You can go swimming in the river, do bouldering and rope climbing, and enjoy countless hiking trails. I also booked a tour of their family-owned cave — highly recommended and absolutely worth the price. All of this for less than $20 per night. Overall: 10/10

Facilities okay, no gas in the kitchen so good job we had our own, fridge was turned off when we arrived. Shower was good- 5 mins for 2 dollars, no where to put your clothes and your towel, floor was dirty and had no other option to put your stuff on it. Still some ongoing construction in the kitchen and toilet. After leaving we realised there was a free campsite up the road which would’ve been better.

Cost is $15 per person per night, $18 for powered site. Lovely camp with heaps of walks and stream to swim in. Good kitchen etc. $35 short cave tour was educational and well worth doing. 2km to big free cave to explore if you have torches and happy to get wet and muddy. No free tenting at big cave site anymore sadly but this farm camp has great tent sites. We recommend it! Limited phone cover and WiFi but ok by office.

Amazing stay and great tour of the glow worm cafe.

The team at waipu caves are brilliant. I did a few diffented tracks that were some of the best bush walks I've done in a while, tracks were very well kept and I was also given a map to help me on my ventures. I accidentally stumbled into a glow worm cave tour because I failed to pay attention to a sign, yet was invited to join in. I really appreciate the team here as they are very friendly bunch and I hope others get to enjoy this place!

Spent two nights a bit by chance. It is a place where you really have many things to do if you dont need things polished. Many tracks - did 3 of them and if you like it a bit wild its perfekt. Glowworm cave great, cold stream the kids loved especially feeding the eel at night and nearby Waipu is a cozy town (small awesome icecream shop across street from brewery). Kind hosts who really has the mindset at right place regarding nature
