Rude owners, advertised services were not available. Only 1 toilet was working. Owner blames the app saying that the mentioned services (bike and wine tasting) is not accurate and doesnt take accountability of what that was advertised. We felt unsafe and had to leave the site.
Great location, walk across the road to restaurants, shops etc. Two exceptionally clean toilets, open all the time. There is no shower available, you can pre-book and pay for hot tubs, this is not included in the price. Had a lovely wine tasting with the owners $25pp. This is a campsite for over 18 only, no facilities for children. There are only 2 spaces so booking is a must. Was a great stay for us.
They lock the toilet from 9pm to 12pm. And turn off the wifi
DONT STAY HERE. Owners very rude, no amneties (we got told many times we didn’t have access to the toilets?!). The only reason you would want to stay here is for the baths, but the host didn’t want us to use them either. They said they closed at 9pm and it was 7:30pm but they ‘didn’t want to be bothered during their dinner’ so we couldn’t go (?!). I tried again later and they locked up reception and literally ignored me knocking on their window. NZ is amazing, go anywhere else :)
Nice pitch for up to 2 vans. Sadly wine tasting not an option when we arrived as they were having a night off. They no longer grow grapes on site. Owners polite but not particularly chatty. Toilets clean but as stated only available whilst the hot tub facilities are open.
We were refused at reception because we have a 9 month old baby. The managers are odious, and do not hesitate to yell at other campers as well because they had not read the rules on their website. Tasting to be avoided in this dirty atmosphere
Nice little site, only 2 spots so have to book in advance. Whole property is managed and owned by just 2 people. They allow only larger, RV type self-contained vehicles. Bathroom is very clean, available only 12pm-9pm. No showers 2 powered sites and potable water provided. Very good wines and free wine tasting at 5pm if you stay on site. Very cute hot tub facilities, requires separate booking. Quiet campsite and owners are fine as long as you follow the rules.
Toilets open 12noon - 930pm only No showers No kitchen No laundry Slow WiFi Paid $65 for 2 adults for powered site Complimentary wine tasting
DO NOT BOOK TO CAMP HERE UNLESS you are in a large, RV style motorhome. It does not matter if you have a valid self contained certificate- only large motor homes (their use of the word campervan is incorrect). Similar to the review below, I also showed up in my self-contained Toyota Estima (converted car) which was rudely and condescendingly turned away because it is a five-star estate and way too fancy for my vehicle. The man I spoke with, who was unfortunately also the owner, was incredibly rude about it right off the bat and seemed appalled that I even considered my car worthy of parking there. He was aggressively argumentative and claimed that the booking website has fine print (it didn't, which I pointed out and has since been changed). Refused to refund me then later issued a refund after realizing I was right about the fine print. Out of principle I would never recommend anyone stay here because of how the owners treated their potential guests - completely lacking any shred of sympathy or understanding, not even offering an I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. Disgusting and despicable way to represent your business.
Warning before booking, the website isn’t clear. We arrived and the owners were immediately rude to us, apparently they don’t accept a self contained vehicle if it doesn’t look like an RV. Our camper-van’s full self containment is in date and legally valid. She said “just because you can slap a self contained sticker on any vehicle, does not make it self contained”. She then told us to leave. We didn’t argue but politely requested a refund which she then begrudgingly went to look into. They then told us they cancelled our booking on the website, though they didn’t seem bothered or certain as to whether this would give our money back. We would’ve been fine with this situation and not left this review if they had just been kind to us.
