Steepish up through the forest. Didn't go all the way since I met some coming down who said there are no views to glaciers (except of Glenorchy), even if you climb (literally) the last part.
Loved it ! Less than 3 hours total, about 8kms returns. The mountains view on top is amazing ! Mainly thru a bush but a nice one, you can see the sky ;). A little steep at the beginning but all good once you’re warm up. Easy and short workout with great ending. It’s chilly up there be prepared :) (1:30 to go up - a bit less to get back down).
Super end of a hike! The climb takes 1:30 and is not really terrible but the final is worth it! Great view of the mountains! Perfect for a picnic!
No interest, very steep so annoying on the way up and down, and nothing to see at the top, no views no waterfall, just the beginning of a mountain with snow. Won’t do again, people we met were disappointed too
Nice walk through the forest, and beautiful view on Glenorchy and the valley. It's steep at the beginning but get easier after. We did it in November, the path was easy (no snow) and beautiful glacier and waterfalls!
Unfortunately, no glacier anymore. Nice track to go on Mt Bonplan. Just at the end of the track always keep right on the "true left" stream side until you reach the top of the moraine. Attention, very steep and only for alpinists. Then cross to the left and there is still a little glacier available. After that, the path is self-explanatory. ONLY for experienced alpinists. Grade 1.
There was a small stream that was about slightly above ankle Deep right at the start of the track so don't come here unless u have truly water proof footwear. The wind was also super strong and really hard to walk, had to give up and head back. Not suitable for campervans either as the gravel road leading up to the track was very bump.
Beautiful walk also in summer, walk up untill you can touch the snow.
Very steep but enjoyable walk. Bad weather caused tree falls on the tracks which made it more interactive. There are more impressive glaciers but the view itself was nice enough!!
