All is closed now because trees are too dangerous for biking and walking

From the outside it looks like a basic forest but once inside it looks like the Amazonian forest! Very nice hike, we did the big loop in 3h40 taking our time. We recommend. ??

When we did it today the water level of the rivers was pretty high and we got more the once wet feet. But we loved the river crossing and the 4.5 h loop. Start the walk to the left!

I don't really know. But on the whole I really liked the 4 and a half hour loop. Beautifully varied through all forests, sometimes steep, sometimes cozy, often tricky and over a lot of spouts from the waterfall. Always over stones that would probably not have been so slippery when dry. I think good conditions are no rain for 2-3 days. It was pretty slippery in between. Still had fun. The end is not so nice because you only have to walk along the clearings.

The two big towers were closed, however, we did the walk of an hour and a half (in less time), without much interest except that it brings a breath of fresh air and it's great on the road between Christchurch and Dunedin

Great for a morning stretch of the legs. We did the swallow track which started quite steep then turned into a lovely walk through the forest. If you’re in the area I’d definitely recommend coming here.

Lovely walking track through the forest. We did the whole loop, but the highlight for us was the hoods creek section. Muddy and slippery in parts so decent boots a must!

Beautiful walk in the forest with a lot of slippery and muddy area (important rainfall in recent days) with a tree more difficult to pass
