We did this walk and saw some kaka and parakeet. Very steep walk but worth it.

Fabulous view over the valley and end of Wanaka Lake from the top. Long forest walk. Fairly intense climbing for about 2-2.5hrs. Took us 4.5hrs return with a couple of breaks.

Stunning hike! A good workout but very plausible for a generally fit person. Well worth continuing on from the last marker steeply ascending to the summit of Mount Shrimpton, the views on the other side are just breathtaking!

Oh wow! This is a great possibility for a workout! haha #legday if you are advanced, you can make it also in approx 3 hours. Its very steep but worth it (good conditions)

Quite hard and steep! Bring enough water, there’s shade for 90% of the way up and then exposed.. Reeeeaally nice view at the end, didn’t quite get to the peak but to the last visible marker.. ??

Took me 6hrs as a beginner: 4 up, 2 down. The track, except for the last few 100m, goes through a very! Steep forest (becomes a puzzle of how to not slip downwards). It was worth it in the end the view is stunning at good wheather, but very exhausting, steep and monoton way up/down. Bring music and enough water :)

What an ascent! Even though the forest never ends and it is exhausting, the track is worth the view. Just met another hiker, so not crowded at all! In good weather really nice :)

Nice track but not as rewarding as Brewster Hut or Isthmus Peak! Took me 2:15 h to the top. Most of the track goes through forest, only the last few 100 metres are exposed to the sun. Unfortunately it's not a 360 ° view at the top. Not a bad hike but wouldn't do it again.

Steep ascent, but well worth it for the alpine route and views!! 5 hour round trip including 45 mins at the summit. No creeks along the way so bring adequate water.

My personal secret tip! I must say that hikes such as Routburn and the Kepler Track really pale when compared to this one...if you are fit enough and the weather is beautiful then gooo! It took me 6 hours there and back, with a break on top! The view is incredible...
