A walk around the lake takes about 1:45 hours. Very nice place. Had lots of wild geese. 👍🏻

Everybody mentioned the lookout but the loop around the lake is worth it too! Up and down hills, easy workout.

Beautiful place with great views of Taranaki from the end of the road. Go up to the Taranaki look out and the dam too

Lake is worth a stop, we biked some of the near by trails which were ok. Great pump track off plantation road. Don't try to bike the track around lake. Tramping only.

Really worth it - keep driving on the gravel road till the end and then a 5 minute walk. Beautiful view of the mountain/lake

Stunning view of the mount here. Flowers and reflection on lake. Drive also to the end of the road for viewpoint.

Drive the gravel road till the end and then it’s only a 5 minute walk to the lower or upper lookout. Take a picnic and enjoy the view!

Great spot for pictures of Taranaki when its clear. It was cloudy so we could not see it. The spot is on the lake dam track, 5min walk from Northern carpark as indicated in post. Great picnic lunch too.

Great spot for photos. We drove the road til the end, then it's another 10 min on foot.
