It's 35 NZD now, every 24 hours. This place is absolutely perfect; everything is within walking distance, especially ideal for city walkers. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, a small park, and a harbor. It's a fantastic spot for camping. However, there are no public restrooms nearby, and the nearest one is frequently closed for maintenance.
Parking for 24 hours now costs $35.00, but the location is perfect if you want to go into town, and it's really not too noisy. Otherwise, it's really "just" a parking lot. Public restrooms are nearby.
1May2026: super convenient place to park and stay overnight in Wellington. 30$ for 24 hours. Close to Te Papa museum, city centre and 10 minutes by car to catch the ferry to the Southern Island. No facilites, just a car park. By 5:30 PM, all spots were taken (15 spots)
Windy! Conveniently located. Felt better about staying with other campervans. No facilities, $30 for 24 hours.
You are paying for parking space within Wellington City - reasonable price for that. Not a campsite. Also, is free on a PH 👍🏻
We arrived at the campsite by ferry just to be safe, because we arrived late. And that you pay 30 NZD on site and there is not even a toilet? That seems pretty stupid to me. There was also noise in the parking lot. If we had known, we would have gone to the campsite for free.
We traveled as a family with small children and a large campervan. There are designated areas for large campervans, but very few and very narrow. There were no public toilets or showers. The parking lot is in the town, so there was the usual traffic noise. We found it okay while waiting for the ferry to depart.
We found the only remaining spot in the campervan area, but people seemed to be staying in other parts of the parking lot. It seems you can spend the night in a self-contained container on almost any street in the city, but I didn't feel safe and preferred to stay near the other campervans. Okay for one night, and then I'll catch the ferry the next day.
No public toilet near after a certain hour. Didn’t sleep too well, handy spot if u want to discover the city tho. 30$ for 24h Stayed here before heading to the ferry
Nice spot, right in the center. 30$ for 24h. Be careful, it’s possible to stay overnight except on Saturday nights.
