Beautiful and varied hike. 10 km up and down through a variety of terrain. Not suitable for small children. Dogs, horses and bicycles prohibited. Also not for the faint of heart and a real challenge for those with a fear of heights. App shows destination in the middle of the street. Simply park in Paekakariki at the train station. Climb from Paekakariki easier.

Ich hätte diese Tour fast nicht gemacht, da sie bisher so wenig kommentiert wurde…Gott sei dank haben wir sie doch gemacht! 😇 Was für ein toller Wanderweg. Wir sind die ca. 10km von Paekakariki nach Pukerua Bay in 2.45h gelaufen, jedoch ist die Strecke anspruchsvoll! Vergesst also nicht ausreichend Wasser mitzunehmen und vernünftiges Schuhwerk zu tragen. CamperMate zeigt den genauen Einstiegsort an. Von Pukerua Bay haben wir den Zug zurück genommen, Fahrkarte kostet 4$ und kann im Zug gekauft werden. Insbesondere wenn ihr auf dem Weg von/nach Wellington seid, ist dies eine phantastische Tour, da sie ‚quasi’ auf dem Weg liegt :) Überprüft die Wetterbedingungen bevor ihr geht, da es sehr unbefestigte Strecken gibt. Nicht so viel Wind und kein Regen wären optimal. Bei Sonnenschein kann man die Fjorde der Südinsel sehen :) Also verpasst diese Wanderung nicht🤗

Absolutely stunning track on a sunny winter’s day. We were staying at the NZMCA Park in Plimmerton and took the train from here to the start.
