We saw people swimming, but when we parked in the big lot to walk over you have a really precarious walk beside the highway - the ground was crumbling beneath our feet so we turned around and missed out. If you can find a better way there, I say do it but we couldn't justify it
Must do when in Taupo! Drive a little further past the pin point and pull in where there’s a gravel lay-by - there were a number of cars parked there including locals but be careful on the walk back to the point as it’s pretty precarious but much safer parking than on the corner of the bends around the hills. Would recommend making sure you’re confident enough to climb back up as it’s obviously pretty slippery, but 100% worth the amazing jumps!
A great place for a spontaneous outing and it is so much fun. However, we were there with a "middle" wwllengang, which made it almost impossible to get out of the lake again. Therefore, only go in good weather :)
Very nice place, we met some awesome people :) the water is just so clear!!! There is also a rope from which you can jump off just around the corner from the big cliffs, it’s not that high (so might be good for the ones who are a bit too scared to try the big cliffs) I recommend parking at the big parking lot just a few hundred meters away because the parking is limited right next to the curve and it’s also quite dangerous with all the cars passing on state highway 1. Have a good time :)
Really a nice spot. We went there three times and discovered a spot with a rope. It’s ca. 1,50 m high but with the rope great fun. From the big cliffs you need to go around the corner.
Spent all afternoon jumping of the cliffs!! It's amazing!!
Funny spot. Due to the limites parking about 2 cars, better to park on one of the bigger parking ares on the left side after about 400m if you're coming from Taupo and then you can easily walk back to the steep curve.
Great Place, but there is a lot of garbage
Not that easy to find but a cool place. Try it out ;)
Keep it clean it's getting full of rubbish
