We booked for two nights, and due to Cyclone Vaianu, we parked at the foot of the house rather than on the lawn, but it didn't bother us at all. The hosts were incredibly welcoming; they let us charge our phones and portable power bank in their garage, and they even offered us a shower and Wi-Fi. We didn't dare ask for Wi-Fi after such kindness! 😅 The surrounding area is beautiful and lush; we loved it and highly recommend the location.
Don't drive up the drive! The camping garden (it's too nice to say field) is the next gate at the very end of the road. It's a lovely spot, quiet and peaceful and reasonably flat. There aren't pitches as such, just start where you want. It is what it says it is, a haven just outside the city with no facilities whatsoever but so much nicer than an urban carpark. Thanks for making this available!

I stayed here last night, and I couldn't wait to write about it. So, I'm writing this before I leave. A sanctuary it certainly is! The wonderful couple and their little one were so friendly and welcoming. I'm so grateful to find such a peaceful spot so close to the city. Parked up near the stream, I fell asleep to the beautiful surrounding sounds of nature, and slept so well! Thank you so much for sharing such an idealic space!
I pulled up to the driveway in my 6m van. 3m tall. Was not going to attempt it. Decided to let booking go. Photo looks way better.
Very nice place. Close to hamilton central but middle of nature.
Just to say how much we enjoyed meeting Simone and staying at her family’s wonderful urban sanctuary. With all the wildlife around us - fantails, silvereyes on the fig tree, tuna in the stream, and morepork hooting & screeching at dusk - and the tranquil garden setting, it was difficult to believe we were in the middle of a busy city. Highly recommended. Neil & Ann
Thanks to Tuckie and the warm welcome to the garden. We got served freshly harvested fruits and joined in on feeding the thick eels in the stream. Cosy, quiet and beautiful place. Highly recommended! Greetings from Ava, Vår, Marie and Julius from Norway.
A massive thanks to Tuk who was super lovely and generous! This area is SUPERB and is such a nice spot to pull into for a night or 2! Could be my favourite spot for our entire trip! Sadly the ground was still a bit wet so we setup in the driveway but walking down to the creek just on dusk is such a beautiful experience! 10/10 spot! 110/10 hosts! Tuck check the mailbox as there is a lil gift for your fruity generosity! :) if you are ever in Aus again! Hit us up :D legolas00651@hotmail.com
Amazing place to stay. Such friendly host. Let us use his bikes in the afternoon to go see the city. Has some cool pet eels which he looks after and it’s a very peaceful spot.
