Good campground close to beach, nice and quiet Clean facilities but bit old $23/pp for unpowered campsites,$1 for 6min hot shower, good WiFi $5 for 24hours access
Stunning location on a black sand beach. Expensive and definitely not good value but options are limited in that stretch of the coast. We paid extra for wifi and it did work well. Dump and fill station was adequate. But everything else was underwhelming. “Amenities” are dated and in need of maintenance and a good cleaning. The shower stall was rusty and moldy.
You pay for the view, which is truly beautiful, especially the sunset. The beach is also great. However, our assigned spot was under a tree with birds, so the next morning our entire car was covered in bird droppings. There are also deductions for the paid Wi-Fi, which you have to use because the signal is poor. I also paid for the hot shower, which then didn't work.
Fantastic location on the beach. Facilities are rustic but clean. Friendly hosts. Hot shower costs extra ($1 for 6mins). Limited phone signal but wifi available at $5 per day.
It’s a great location right on the beach. The facilities are rustic but clean and the park managers are friendly and helpful. The beach is great for walking and fishing (many fishermen!) but not really for swimming.
This place near the beach is beautiful, the campground is ok, there are all services, but it’s a bit old and you need to pay for all extra (hot shower, washing machines,…) and the owner is really grumpy and not friendly.
Average cleanliness of toilets and showers. Decent food. Nearby beach, perfect for sunset! No electricity $23 per person $1 for 6 mins hot shower (otherwise ok cold water) Paying Wifi $5
Showers cost extra, showers and toilets are old but clean. The front house is nicely painted. Paint alone doesn't really help. 2 people in a camper right next to the dune. Great pitch but for 53 NZD the wifi could be included in the price. It's a shame but apparently it's OK for the long-term campers. That way you stay amongst yourselves.
Showers and toilets really disgusting for a paid campsite, blocked drains and dead moths and bugs floating around, lines of ants crawling up the walls and very dark and dingy!! Wi-Fi is fast though for $5 and the beach on the site is really beautiful and quiet
Cost only $1. For a token for the shower and the price for a powered site was $56.00 I think or close to that. Unfortunately got here in a long weekend without a booking and had to take the last powered site in front of the office. A bit noisy with check ins but the sound of the waves in a really windy day was nice.
