Very good price ($20) for one night (2 people in sc van). Wifi at the club house, flush toilets and plenty of space. Very hot (if ugly) unisex shower in the changing rooms which the groundsman, Roger, is very eager for you to use. Water tap for filling bottles too.
Very nice campsite. We paid 20 dollars for 2 ppl in a unpowered site. The host was very kind and available. Toilets were decent clean and hot shower functioning. Good space inside with tables.
Beautiful location, $12 or $15 a site. The locals were so friendly. Basic facilities, uni sex showers but private enough and every one was cool as. Wifi, general store. Fuel 10 mins away. The beach is spectacular, not so much for swimming. Great low cost site.
Lovely stretched out place. Hot shower (best one I’ve had) and good WiFi at the reception. You can pay by card or cash. Toilets and dumping station (free if you stay the night)
Good! Drive here from Lake Ngaroto via Te Awamutu to dump and fill then, via Marokopa Falls, onwards via Marokopa, Awakino took 5 hours total. One of our favourite legs yet. Much gravel and tight and windy. Epic! Very remote road and signal patchy- download offline maps but lots of signs anyway. Not for caravans. Toilets and dump and fill included in $15 for the van site. Great day. Good site.
Wonderful little campsite. We were sceptical to stay here due to the previous reviews but we didn’t have to be. Jenny was extremely friendly and chatty with us, asking us all about our trip. We paid $20 for 2 for a powered site. Facilities are fine for 1 night and reflect the great value price, would definitely recommend if passing through Mōkau.
Really nice location just 3minutes drive from the town, powered site for 2 people just $15, beach 2min walk, great fish n chips at the whitebait inn
10$ for two persons on the unpowered site. Someone came to our car about 6pm and we payed in cash. The toilets were alright but a bit dusty and dark. It was extremely windy and they were just a few other campers. Overall totally alright for one night but we wouldn’t stay there longer than that.
We stopped off here for the night. The caretaker was a lovely lady who directed us to one of the powered sites ... $15 payable by bank transfer or in cash. There is a lovely walk along the beach which we did at sunset ... Only downside for me was the spider infested toilets. They were clean but if you have a fear of spiders you may want to avoid ...
Wow, just wow. Came here to dump/fill water and the caretaker was sooo rude and grumpy. I was going to pay the 5 dollars to dump and my partner was filling up water. He was getting mad at her for filling up water as I was going to pay. He was like no I’m trying to stop the freedom campers from 3 sisters rock trying to fill up water here. But you can only dump. Like what??? I even offered to pay for a full night stay to fill up water and he was like no. You have to stay the night. We both are like just wow. Left without dumping. Don’t stay here at all. Horrible spot and horrible caretaker. He would have gotten money for a night stay and could have sold it to someone else for more
