Really enjoyed looking around the Brunner mine site and reading the info about the old mining town. Makes you appreciate how difficult life must have been back then for the families. Definitely recommend
Wow. Very interesting history. Enjoyed the walk, kids enjoyed it too.
This is not the site with the museum, walk, and informational plaques. This is a mass grave for 33 miners. Sobering place. There are a few names with multiple lost men. The site with the museum and walking track is a bit further down SH7 and well signed.
This is far more than a memorial: it is an industrial museum for brick making and coal mining in the area. The story boards at the SH7 carpark cover the basics but walk across the swing bridge (toilets at S end) and follow the 40 minute trail around the old brick works and mine entrances. An excellent stop if you've any interest in history.i
Very good place for swimming or cliff jumping. The expression is also very nice. Some native teen jumped off the bridge. Was a nice short stopover?
