Quite nice but nothing special.
Great walk! Did the cemetary walk all the way to the old mining spot, and then walked back the ghost track to mix it up. Great walk! the river under the first bridge is amazing! so clear. When you get to the sign for the mining site it says 40 mins return from there. Dont let it deter you, it only took me 25 return and that was with lots of photo stops. All up took me about an hour 15 while stopping for photos. Says 45 one way. Maybe if you really dawdle
Nice walk in the forest (you can choose from different tracks). May not suit people who suffer from severe vertigo: there are steep drop-offs and the track isn’t large at all (40 to 60 cm large). One tree cuts the track after the cemetery due to a slip but if you’re careful you can walk around it.
Really nice short walk to the river. Not too deep, ideal for paddling. Excellent site with picnic benches. Watch the sandflies!
Thought we would check out the walks seeing as there were no other reviews! We walked from the car park/campground via the 'Lyell Walkway' which goes past the old cemetery to Croesus Battery (old mining equipment), then back to the carpark via Old Dray Road, and the Old Ghost Road (it does a loop). It took about 45 min return with some stops for pictures, to read the information on the way and read the headstones in the cemetery (creepy but cool!). Nice easy walk through the Bush, a tiny bit steep in some bits but no real issue- fine to do in trainers. If you are going to stop for a picnic in the car park area make sure you use the shelter (bug proof and picnic benches provided) otherwise be prepared to get munched by sandflies! Also decent longdrop toilet.
Beautiful camping space at 8 dollars per person, several tables, a shelter where you can sit sheltered from the wind and rain, dry toilets, drinking water easy access to fill bottles and can. Below a cabin where you can obviously enter but not tested The hikes even short climb quite a lot, being sick, I could not do them
