No reception at all!
Great, wipe open spot for kids! Had the soccer ball out, could make lots of noise and had a little camp fire! No amenities as detailed in the description, but clean and tidy considering there are no bins! We had 3 or 4 other vehicles arrive that night, but all spread out and not on top of one another. Sunrise, beautiful!
Good place, good firm ground around the shelter area. Just make sure you take your rubbish with you or put it in the bin.
Apart from the rubbish and toilet paper, if you head over the back and down into the valley it is a lovely spot. Best to take your own wood in if you would like a fire. Fantastic safe and family friendly, free camp spot. Please take your rubbish with you to keep Australia beautiful. Maybe take some of the other rubbish with you too, as every little bit helps.
Absolutely disgusting, used as a toilet all around the area, rubbish also everywhere, needs to be cleaned up!
Rest area next to the road so expect some road noise. No toilets so a lot of "dumping" in the surrounding area
Stay on the first, grey asphalt, where you are not in a 4 wheel drive. We parked on, what looked like a solid space a little further from the road. But because of heavy rain, we where stuck in the mud the next morning. Lucky for us, a lovely couple pulled out RV out!!! totally our own fault. Lesson: stay on this campground, know where to park...
We stopped at this rest area to have a nice night sleep and leave the next morning early to Coober Pedy. We only woke up by a few trucks passing by. Other than that it was a quite, nice campground.
