Great spot for an overnight stay! We showed up in the mid-afternoon and there was quite a bit of room on the South side of the river, but it did fill up as the evening went on. We had no issues with mice, as other reviews suggest. We did not see or hear anything about them. There is a neat piece of history of WA to learn about there, and nice spots to sit by the river. The river has very dense seaweed, so swimming isn't ideal.
Great place!
Stopped for one night, about 3pm, plenty of spots to choose but by 4.30 started to fill up. Nice spot by the river, shady camp spots, plenty of fire pits toilets were ok, plenty of bins for the rubbish. We had no discernible road noise could do worse than this site and I would stop here again.
No Optus connexion. Dirty toilet. Windy. Overcrowded but free. Not too noisy
Boy! Get in early for a drier spot. This was very busy but still a huge area behind thats too muddy to use currently
Free and large 24 hour rest area on both banks of the Murchison River near Ajana, WA. Must be self-contained. Flattish dirt base with some shade near the river. Drop toilets, bins, covered seating areas, three dump points, fire-pits. Very weak Telstra, no Optus or TV reception. No water so bring your own. Suited as overnight stopover. Pleasant setting especially adjacent to the river. Very popular.
A lovely spot right on the river. Tables, shelters & clean drop toilets. Lots of space for bigger vans.
Perfect place near the National Park
Free Camping 1hr drive from Kalbarri Skywalk & 30mims from Hawks Head Lookout. Would recommend! Very large camping area, clean toilets, bins & lots of fire pits.
Beautiful sitting area. Dreamed stoves next to the river and very close to the Kalbarri national park !!
