Pulled in here at around 7:30pm to stay the night. No other campers there and it looked dodgy as. Didn’t feel safe as a solo traveller as soon as I arrived so left and drove 15 minutes to the next stop (Nerren Nerren Rest Area). Also 1 bad phone signal, would definitely avoid here.
Just drove by (didn’t stay there) but seemed like nothing much there. Just of the highway so very exposed.
Good for a night
This is the worst rest area we’ve come across! The watertanks are empty (collect rainwater) and the area stinks of urine. There are no facilities except some bins. The area was empty when we arrived in the evening. We parked our motorhome a bit in the back in the bushes, out if sight from the road. So much litter there, it’s unbelievable. An island of empty cans and beer bottles. We started picking up rubbish around our vehicle and filled one bag easy. Dodgy people did some deals at night - motorbikes and road trains pulling in and out the area after short stays. Super dodgy and didn’t sleep well that night. If you want to stay there, please reconsider staying at a stop before or after this area instead.
Perfect stop for dinner and camp the night. Pull out camp chairs, have a few beers and look up at the most amazing night sky or stars, will leave you speechless due to no light pollution.
Empty watertanks. No water inside. Otherwise very basic campsite. Just some bins, nothing else. A lot of space around the tanks, but also a bit away in the bush some camp possibilities. Good for a night.
Surprisingly as the roadhouses north of here had refused to let us fill up our water bottles due to a 'water shortage' these tanks had water in them!!
