Brilliant little spot, a bit of a windy/gravelly road to get to it but it’s nice and quiet. Drop toilet is okay. No amazing view but good for a night. Make sure you check your email and keep the code they send you for the padlock

This is a great little hideaway! Eating area, washing up area and a non flush toilet. Great phone reception on NZ 2degrees! There is a gravel track for about 7kms and the roads have a lot of bends but not the worst! Would recommend staying! Lastly the gate is a little annoying I never received the gate code, to unlock the gate so what I did was, book online via Auckland Council website and rang there phone number - 09-301-0101 gave them my confirmation number and they gave me the code!

Stayed here end of May, we were the only ones there. Took about 20 mins down mud/ gravel road to site. Great location if your planning to use the walking tracks, about an hours walk down to Piha, otherwise just a small field in the middle of nowhere. Toilet clean and stocked with loo roll. They email you the code for the gate to get in, need to give the lock a bit of a wiggle/ push to open.

19 dollars for a patch of grass and a water tank. Okay if you have a reason to be there otherwise spend 44 and go down the hill to Piha.

Fine enough spot for one night, you have to book and there is very limited reception at camp and the road to it. Also 5km of gravel road to the site
