Very sweet staff and lots of information on safety, things to do, where to eat etc. The ground is nice and big, didn’t feel crowded at all. Nice kitchen with fridge and freezer, laundry room, indoor and outdoor seating. Bathrooms were fine, showers were a little annoying. Took forever until there was some hot water, which then wasn’t very consistent either. You also have to push the button for the water every 6 seconds. Lots of birds walking around, which was nice. Close to the beach.
Great place to stop for a quick break before Auckland. Direct access to the sea. It has everything you need: a kitchen with a stove, hot showers. Very quiet.
Great location, good camp and facilities, friendly staff 10 second water per press in the shower is annoying if you are hairwashing, but its warm and manageable A lot of detail ar check-in but as someone else said delivered with humour - most is common sense, but good to spell it out We didn't book in advance
Very friendly and responsive staff in difficult conditions and despite the storm.
Piha is a fabulous stop around Auckland, makes a great start or finish to your holiday. Amazing beach 5 minutes walk, choice of 4 places to eat, shop, cafe and Kitekite waterfall walk is a must, especially if you like a cold dip! Note there is no dump station though! Nice facilities, restricted by water availability but all OK. Length of information on booking and arrival seems a little much but all delivered with humour.
Perfect spot for the night. Showers and toilets are absolutely fine. Staff is super nice. Kitchen with everything you need. The burgers at the bowling restaurant are solid! The fries are maybe even better. We misunderstood the Mercer Loop hiking directions and accidentally ended up at the blue pool and the blow hole which was a nice surprise in itself. Just know that if you hike up the forest road, you’ll need to walk back down to Piha on the main road unless you turn around.
Lovely staff! Lots of space, both powered and unpowered. 10/10
Really nice place. Reception staff are incredible with great humour and are so helpful with stuff to do in the area. Communal kitchen, laundry. Shower and toilet block is okay. Thankful for hot showers. Best bit is it’s only a 5 minute walk from the beach.
Perhaps the weather didnt do it a favor but not our best experience. Facilities were clean but it would be nice to be able to lock the shower cabin. Overall okay
