We arrived shortly after 5 p.m. (⚠️the access barrier closes at 6 p.m. and opens with a pass), and we were welcomed. The sanitary is very clean, and the shower operates with tokens (to buy at the reception, $1 per shower). We saw no squatters, only people who live here for a long time with their children. Very quiet, kitchen also available (no utensils but plates, slices and a refrigerator). Practical and fair price ✅
We can't understand the negative reviews at all! The campsite is very affordable for Auckland, the facilities are spotlessly clean, and the staff is friendly. Even the long-term campers are nice and helpful. The city center and beautiful beaches are within easy reach. We initially booked just one night, but ended up staying for five days because we enjoyed it so much. The only downside: there's no Wi-Fi or pool.
We arrived and left, the atmosphere was very strange, not at all safe, the campsite was abandoned with squatters.
We originally planned to stay three nights, but quickly changed our minds and decided on just one, which was already too long 🫣. This place is really run-down. The swimming pool is being used for storage. Everything looks neglected. The showers and toilets are clean enough, but not exactly pleasant. We'll make sure we leave as soon as possible tomorrow. It's a real shame because this place has real potential, but not like this.
It is a quirky place (trailer park with some permanent residents) but actually a gem close to Auckland. Super clean bathrooms & kitchen facilities. I wouldn’t recommend it for vehicles longer than 7m. And there’s great beer spot around the corner!
It was an interesting stop, but ultimately very positive. We stayed in our van, 2 people powered site (didn't use power) for 40$/night + $1 per minute shower. The staff were all friendly, and we had no issues at all with others in the park - it was very quiet. The facilities were super clean and tidy, and again nobody really using them, but the water was hot and everything was clean.
A strange little camping site and I can understand initial reservations but I can’t fault the cleanliness of the bathrooms and kitchen. They were absolutely spotless and constantly cleaned. The staff were friendly and it was lovely to hear ( I think their children) running around and having fun but not until late. It certainly served a purpose as we had to leave for the airport next day which is only 30 mins drive. Exceptionally good value for $42 including showers
I booked this last minute as my plans fell through, but when I pulled in with my camper I knew it was a mistake. I can’t say too much as I ended up driving straight back out again, but as a solo traveller I did not feel safe here.
Will not allow you to fill your water tanks in your RV...even if you pay the camp fee and spend the night....what holiday park will not allow you to top of your water tanks? Look at Google reviews...2.8 stars average with 344 reviews. Pretty obvious what the experience here will be.
02/27/2024 We paid $40 per night for 2 people. The space is very tight for larger vehicles. Generally a bit outdated and a renovation would be necessary. The 923 bus takes you to the center of Auckland in about 20 minutes.
