Great campground, the shower is out in the open no coverage at all so maybe bring a shower tent along or just shower with clothes on. Very short walk to the beach. No camping sign is for the gated cabin and house area as it is park of the parks history. Bring lots of lighting for night time if you plan on staying up.

Mid Sept 2020. Lovely and quiet with lots of birdlife. Approx 1 5 hours drive from Auck. Still Winter hours so SCC in Carpark only. Plenty other sites past gate but all Grass and not many flat sites. Handy to beach. Good mountain bike rides and walks. Happily come back again. Not sure how busy in Summer though
