Wonderful place to camp! Showers are outdoors.

26/3/22 Peaceful Haven. Lovely beach & bush walks. Few other campers. Tables bbqs loos drinking water. Here 1 night.

Beautiful place . Busy over long weekend. But still plenty of room. Not a lot of flat sites so take wheel blocks. Then it is fine. Booking system not that difficult!! Lots of interesting places to visit on the peninsula. Highly recommend

Nice campsite, in a beautiful spot. Agree with previous comments that to book/ get permit is hard work! Price has gone up. Think for this sort of price there should at least be a cold shower somewhere on the reserve - it would be good after going in the sea.

Really nice camp spot. I add loads of space for Motorhome. Views, walks, birdsong, facilities all wonderful. But we nearly gave up with the difficulty booking online. Have to log in and crate an account via Facebook. Money accepted but no code sent via email. Finally found a ranger who helped out. ARC.. Please make this easier and more faultless. Such a shame for people to not use it because they can’t get in!

Beautiful maintained grounds and facilities. Close to the water with Auckland lights twinkling through the trees. Booking online was reasonably straightforward. Had the place to myself!

A very nice campsite with good facilities, running water, loo, rubbish collection etc. This is a great spot and a 2 min stroll to the water. Good for spotlighting at night for the kids and good to bike around, feeding the eels a highlight for the kids. High tide is great to swim in, low tide is a bit average... Bring aqua shoes. All in all a pleasant spot

What a gorgeous place to stay. It is a little out of the way but worth it. The perfectly preserved homestead is a great story and the walk on the beach gorgeous. Booking with the Aukland Council regional parks is a bit tedious but the parks themselves are gems. Remember to get the code for the gate! $30 for two adults to support this kind of place is worth every cent.
