Beautiful area, but unfortunately the track is currently closed until further notice. What a pity :( Please behave properly and decently in forests, then the tracks with unique glimpses into nature won't have to be closed. Save the kauri 💚

Definitely not closed! Great walk up to Sentinel rock. Semi-challenging. Worth it for the views!

Now open. We walked to the sentinel rock look out, two hours return through dank forest. Enjoyed.

BEWARE: The walkway is appearantly closed from November 7th to December 2nd 2016. I did the walk (Sentinel Rock Lockout) after several days of rain and it was pretty muddy and slippery. The walkway was hard to see due to all the plants, it felt like as if you're in a jungle and it's pretty steep, you should be fit for the hike. After arriving at the lookout unfortunately it was so foggy that it was not possible to enjoy the view, still it was a very beautiful track

Die Wanderwege sind in einem recht schlechten Zustand und hier und da zugewuchert. Trotzdem ein netter Wanderweg, wenn auch nicht wirklich späktakulär. Unterwegs gibt es Hütten in denen man übernachten kann, falls man eine mehrtägige Wanderung machen möchte.

The tracks are pretty steep and tough to walk. You also have to cross a river by jumping from stone to stone.
