Great spot to spend the night. We were the only van there, and the views at sunrise were spectacular. Although it was very cloudy when we got there and gets pitch black at night,so I understand the fear if you are all by yourself. Apart from that, friendly locals and 4 friendly roosters constantly around. *its true that some cars come during the afternoon/night and leave, but I think it’s because it’s the end of the road and there’s no sign that says so before getting there. Would 100% repeat!!

Good view and a flush toilet, but lots of cars pulling up and leaving all throughout the night. Didn't feel secure being the only van there.

Had a lovely night's stay here, few locals turned up after darkness to hang around in their vehicles and do whatever they do but never bothered me

Lovely spot with the biggest views. Bush track to walk and a serviced toilet. A few youngsters but no real drama. Chooks and a resident big rooster?

Very small area to park. Sealed road with toilet facilities. Awesome outlook right around the bay. Notorious for local hoods and only suitable for very small vans as turning is very limited. There is a loop bush track of 11klms you can attempt if you're keen. This spot will lose sunlight in the late afternoon.

We hiked the Lindemanns track. Took us about 5 hours for the loop with breaks and lunch. Not many views, but a nice raw forest and passes lots of kauri trees. Would recommend if in the area and you are looking for a nice day track to hike.

Track is closed and there is some road maintenance as well
