Beautiful campsites in a peaceful setting, surrounded by native bush and with a lovely stream running through the park. Great facilities, including pools, spas, BBQ area, and clean kitchen, bathrooms, laundry etc. I will certainly be back!
Great place to stay, loved the pools and hot pools. Cool tracks through the Kauri forest.
We can highly recommend this place ? We’ve just spend 2 nights at the campsite and we absolutely love the place. Clean and tidy. The pool area is nice and located in the forest. There are 2 big pools and one for the little ones. There are also 2 spas. All of them clean and warm. The owners are friendly and helpfull. / Lene and Soren, from Denmark
Not an awful place to stay, but we paid to stay the night and an extra fee to use the spa facility that don’t even have a shower therefore we had to pay another $ each for a barley warm shower. Staff were friendly and the facility’s were good I just don’t like that you have to pay extra for a shower that’s barely warm… also the toilets were emptied right outside our van at 9.30am.
Heard the assistant managers made huge changes for everyone especially the cleaning staff. Wish you were here when we were. All the best

What a gem of a place! Camper van site was right by the most beautiful stream. Arrived late afternoon and had a soak in a hot tub - awesome!

Beautiful, quiet place, while we were there. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Facilities and whole camp clean, pools lovely. Room for our large caravan. 10/10. We'll be back.

First time here, great setting among the trees. Well groomed and plenty of room, was given 2 sites, which made setup very easy. Camp saver rates are fantastic. Great to also meet some of the kiwi fruit workers from the pacific islands, very friendly happy people. Will be back.

There is no shower in hot pools or in private spa - which I find just ridiculous and I am not saying it because we wanted to have shower but also because it is just hygienical standard that people shower their bodies before they enter pool/spa/hot pool.

We are unsure what experiences you may have had with any previous staff but can assure all future guests history will not be repeating itself with new management. You are correct - the pool area does not have showers however there is an outdoor shower in the area available for guests to use which has hot water. The reason there are no showers in the pool area is because the water comes directly from the river, and we can't have shampoo's, body washes, soap etc. getting back into the river. I'm sure if any future guest's read through our google and booking.com reviews they will find Sapphire is an amazing place to be that caters and welcomes ALL.
