Wonderful finding, I'm glad I came here, even though Katikati feels kind of a random stop for the night. Only one other, late arriving car came. The park is worth a stroll around or a yoga session etc., so ideally take some time here. Locals walking or cycling by, very calm and friendly atmosphere. Toilets are clean enough, but located up the little hill on the other side of the road.

28Apr2026: Car park for up to 5 self-contained vehicles. Located in the middle of the town, but entrance is a bit hidden and the surroundings are very quiet. We got there at 6 pm and It was empty. We spent a peaceful night.

The entrance is somewhat hidden behind the café. It's a lovely, quiet spot in a well-maintained park. The area marked in yellow on the map can accommodate five vehicles. We were the only ones there, along with just one other campervan. At night, some teenagers drove by in a car and tried to scare us with strange noises. We thought it was ridiculous, but it would certainly be unpleasant for women traveling alone. Around 8 a.m. the next morning, a large group of volunteers gathered in the parking lot.

A beautiful and peaceful spot, not close to the main road which is a plus. Restrooms across the road open until late (or maybe all night). There were only three of us in campers. A great place to spend the night.

Have been seeking a spot for ages in this region and found this hidden gem. Quit little spot with space in the evening! Toilets nearby and a beautiful few. Definitely recommended!😍

Hidden but very pleasant freecamp! Turn before the café, just after the DIY store, it's a short passage. There are clean toilets across the street. Super nice place, there was 1 other vehicle than ours. Shops within walking distance (cafe, supermarket, etc.). Short relaxing walk along Haiku Park. Wifi point at the café just upstairs (very good muffins and lattes!)

A pleasant stay by a wonderful river and park, very close to the city center. It's a super quiet place for the night, and the toilets are around 200m away, easily accessible.

A bit hidden behind the cafe. Very quiet parking lot directly at the park and creek. Was there alone. More cars came at night? who were gone again in the morning. Gladly again

Lovely spot as previous comments. Park is room for cars or vans (not big enough for larger motorhomes unfortunately)

Quiet little spot, and we were the only ones there. Really quiet but around 3am I heard a car or cars and some lights. Might be police or the council doing their rounds ? Either way it was ok.
