The kitchen had no water, and informing the manager didn't improve the situation. A dozen vehicles shared one bathroom (one toilet and one shower). Hot water would run out after about three minutes, requiring another 1-2 minutes to reappear. If there are nearby alternatives, travelers are advised to go to other campsites to avoid this ordeal. There are no problems when not using these facilities.
Great holiday park for the price. Don’t be fooled by all the other negative reviews. Shower was hot and good pressure. Kitchen was big and has 4 sinks. Bring your own things to cook. Overall great stay. The camp doesn’t look that “attractive” but don’t let it fool you it’s perfect for the price.
Stopped here and paid for a powered site before realizing it was an absolute wasteland of despair. Didnt even try for a refund because they can use the money to hopefully clean up the place. Absolutely would not recommend.
This campground is in a lovely location with the lake just along the track. The facilities were new and very clean. Others have commented on the look of the site, and it cannot be called attractive, we thought workers and long term residents stayed . It is also not green because it is on the dry side of the hills . However in the powered campervan area there were big plot allocations and great stars. The staff were super friendly and helpful, would stay again as it had all we needed.
+Great quiet location near Pukaki, Mt Cook and Tekapo +Good value (22$ per adult, non-powered site) +Good hot shower and water pressure +Good wifi in kitchen/common area -Staff does their job but not very friendly -Kitchen equipped with oven, micro-wave, stove but absolutely no cutlery or tableware (plates, cups, pans...) That's the only campsite I stayed in NZ that didn't have that... -Toilets are so small you have to squeeze in to enter because the door is too large compared to the cabin size.
AVOID AT ALL COST! We stayed here for 1 night because we needed to charge our campervan. When we entered everything seems rusty, broken, thrashed which gives it a very unpleasent feeling. The toilet and showerbuilding was filthy and due to the lack of maintanance we decided not to fill our van with fresh water. The wifi was almost not available and no cellphone reception. The personel at the reception was friendly and kind. Overal I wouldn't pay for such a place. But feel free to ignore.
Decent campsite, 3 different blocks for toilets, kitchen, laundry etc. Well stocked little shop and really nice staff. Lovely walk down and around the lake with kayaks available for hire.
Huge, soulless campsite. Avoid it.
We stayed at the campsite for 2 nights. A night here costs 48 NZD for 2 adults. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities (shower and toilet) do not have functioning heating. Furthermore, there are open toilets and showers. Overall, there are very few toilets and showers (only 2) for the large number of campers. The kitchen for everyone has no utensils for guests (no cutlery, no cloths, no dish towels, no pots, no tongs, no oil, no cleaning products, and the gas for the grill was almost nonexistent.
22 a night for no power site. Not as bad as some making it sound
