Great place! Stayed one night. Arrived mid afternoon and walked around a smaller section of the park. Some teenagers were staying in the on-site accommodation and were a little rowdy throughout the night, but otherwise it was perfect. As the arboretum ticket is 24hrs , we woke up and walked the long green route the next morning. Recommended. NOTE- -access to toilets at cafe is during working hours but the toilet at the top of the stairs near the car park/cafe were open early next morning (before 9am)
Car park was crowded when we arrived, may need to use the bus park, but lovely and peaceful overnight. The overflow parking is good for overnight, pretty level and has a beautiful outlook filling our back window with autumn colour. Enjoyed our day and night here, lots of trails to follow. Great to be able to come and go from the camper throughout the day.
Great arboretum. Park in the overflow car park surrounded by beautiful trees! Spent one and a half nights (the half because of tsunami/ earthquake risk at the NZMCA park). Paid per van; include recommended admission for 2 to the arboretum and it’s still cheaper than a campground.... Fabulous!
What a treat! Technically in the car park but on the edge with grass and a lovely outlook. Enjoyed the walks around the Arboretum and a bike ride out of hours.
Lovely quiet night on hard stand flat area (top car park). No showers. Toilet available at night.
We visited day after Anzac day in our 5th wheeler and drove up to the car park by entrance. It was really busy, full car park, nowhere to park up. The lovely lady from shop was very helpful and told us to park down at bus park. Very difficult to turn rig around. Best you stay down hill if in a large rig or public holiday. Apart from that a stunning place to visit , highly recommend.
A wonder visit, lots of small trails to discover this beautiful arboretum and all its beautiful species of trees. Very welcome, we loved it! An organic coffee walking to the left of the entrance is very nice and the very kind lady offered us fruit for free! Must do!
Stayed overnight on a Saturday in the middle of summer and other than the guests at the wedding on the lawns, we were the only campers. Parked in the Bus bay and had a beautiful night’s sleep!! Lots of song bird in the morning, very tranquil, idyllic spot and a wonderful day out in the arboretum.
Perfect tranquil spot. Only people there on a Sunday in winter. Beautiful place. Parked surrounded by spring blossom trees and the sound of native birds.
Kostet 15$ pro Erwachsener, Sah zwar sehr gepflegt aus und ist ein schönes Ambiente, war uns dennoch zu viel Geld. Für Pflanzen- und Baumfans bestimmt das richtige.
