What a great trail/area to explore. Definitely do this if you have time around Nelson. It’s a very local spot! The cave walk is an 1 1/2 one way. It took us around 2 hours to do the whole thing (we hike a lot). The cave you can explore, but bring your headlamp and some guts! It was way to wet for us to want to go down (muddy!) there are some river crossings to get to the caves so wear appropriate shoes or just take them off! If you don’t want to hike this area has many picnic spots, other trails longer and shorter!
