Incredible experience, worth it! We were driving a Toyota Estima 2WD, entered at Hukatere access road and wanted to exit at Waipapakauri but the sand was too deep so we turned around and exited the same way we entered. 29th dec 2020

AWESOME EXPERIENCE. We came from north entrance exact time on low tide. Easy entrance. We exit in middle point becouse locals said on south I will not make with 2wd. Would go from middle point to north becouse esier to exit in north very smooth. 200t Nissan caravan high top 2RWD Tyres not the best.

Access is closed at the moment due to a land/sand slide.

Nice drive down the beach

Access point is still there. We made it with our Estima 4wd. I don’t understand the comment below. There are many cars coming in and out through this point. And friendly locals pull bogged cars out. ?

Attention! This acsess point is gone

We drove from here to the next access point on the map by a 2wd. It’s nice and safe, but remember, drive 2wds ONLY when the tide is low!

Not so great for bigger 2wd vehicles... We got stuck with our Toyota hiace. But luckily a group of friendly locals pulled us out with 2 vehicles.

Wonderful beach, even without a car

We arrived from acces for normal car (with a van) but unfortunately for us exit impossible. 4x4 plowed entry / exit
