Very quiet place. Great if you love a peaceful accommodation. Owner was so lovely & gave me all the good recommendations of where to go and what to see. Also gave me $2 for the shower. Amenities are maybe a tad out of date but nothing too bad, overall had a great time here. No phone signal, but wifi worked like a treat!

Very nice hosts, the campsite is nice, right on the bay, with access to the cannibal bay with the sea lions. The furnishings, kitchen, shower is old, but very clean and wellined. Since only rainwater is used for the supply, it is requested to handle the valuable resuce water consciously. Showers cost $2. The reception has a break from 12.00-14.00. We can highly recommend this place

Sites are really small. Fine if you’re looking for a powered site but if you have a large tent or an awning on a van, you’re going to be way too tight. Felt like a bit of a cash grab

Lovely quiet, small site. I loved it. The sea lions on beach early morning Kate at night were fabulous Clean facilities, kitchen was well equipped and the lounge area outstanding. If I ever get back to Aotearoa NZ I will definitely be visiting again, 5yrs countdown

Campsite in a great location, very close to the beach where you can see sea lions. Camp facilities are good, flush toilet, hot showers, kitchen etc however only 2 toilets (one in the bathroom) & the shower costs $2 for 5 minutes of hot water, the camp is on rain water & the owner will make you feel guilty if you need longer. The laundry is expensive compared to other sites so I would wait to wash clothes if you are just passing through. Don’t use the dryer as it barely works and cost $ each time

The environment is beautiful, situated at the confluence of a lake and the sea, with stunning natural scenery. You can see sea lions up close, and after walking through a maze-like forest (which is quite fun), you'll find a large, pristine beach. The campsite's common areas are cozy and clean; I think it's one of the best campsites I've ever been to.

We made an honest booking mistake and politely asked for goodwill, fully aware the fee was non-refundable. The replies we received were hostile: sarcasm, personal remarks, and false accusations that we told “bullshit,” tried to “sneak” a refund, and were “entitled.” This attitude has nothing to do with hospitality. We’re glad we didn’t stay. Not recommended.

If you value only the view, this is the place for you. If, on the other hand, you value things like: the friendliness of the owner (although also the guests we met who seemed to be from around there), common areas like the kitchen and living room (the smell was not pleasant at all in this place, everything was very old), you want to pay for hot water (a $2 coin is enough, so if you don't have coins, you won't be able to shower hot), paying more for the laundry room than other places ($8), this is NOT the place for you. Horrible.

Great spot to camp, we had one night, staff at reception was lovely she even gave us the $2 each for our showers because we had no change, amenities where clean and showers lasted plenty to wash body and hair. We seen sea lions on the beach (20min walk from park) wifi was fantastic as there is no mobile phone service.

Small site but pretty views right on the beach. Showers require $2 coins. The female owner at the front desk was very helpful but the same can’t be said of what I assume was the male owner. We accidentally tripped the power in the kitchen and he was quite rude when he came over to fix it.
