Didn't really have much train noise when camping here. Free parking after 6pm and toilet is across the bridge and is relatively clean.
Only a few small pitches for camper vans. Extremely noisy both at late night and early morning, noisier than side of highway. Lots of rubbish by the fence. Toilets across the bridge.
Superb location 2min walk from the very beautiful Dunedin station, the noise of the trains has never been annoying. Only, they removed the toilet and the large dishwasher that allowed to wash the dishes, I don't know if it's temporary but it's really a shame. It's a classic day parking (8$ a day), free only from 18:00.
No toilet facilities. Woke up at 1:00am to other caravan been raided across from us that seemed to live their full time in the car park.
Toilets were clean and flushed like an airplane toilet. Sink for washing dishes. Train noise was OK. We arrived at 3 and paid $6 to park until 6 pm then it was free. Short walk to all the sites. And how often can you say you slept by the railroad tracks. 😁
"Idyllically" located. Between a four-lane road and railway tracks. No toilets, two chemical toilets. Noisy day and night. Plenty of space. Very good 4G and 5G phone signal.
Good location and big spaces But the French backpackers drinking and listening music so lour at 11pm It's always French U guys should feel sorry for other people who's trying to take a rest and sleep
You get exactly what you See on the pictures: a noisy street on one side and a train every hour or so on the other side. Facilities are clean and safe but without light in the night. Parking fee for the entire day is 8$ and night is free. If you have a big motor home definitely need to arrive before 4pm in peak season or weekends.
As others say, noisy from goods trains shunting and road traffic, thus would advise against overnight here unless wanting to eat and drink in town. We were in a 6m van and able to park. Larger vans likely to struggle, in part due cars, small vans In considerately occupying the large spaces.
Terrible campsite. Avoid at all cost. Super noisy from road and railway as well. Many people hang out there at night, making a lot of noise and playing loud music. We stuck around until 23:00 then drove elsewhere.
