fills up quickly but great little free carpark for the night. Access to 24hr toilets and water fountain. Not too noisy even though it’s by the road. 10 min walk to leisure centre for unlimited hot shower for $5!
Really good place, toilets and a dump station really close by. Good location, just 20min by bus from the city center. Stayed two nights and had no problems. It can get busy.
A great spot, but very popular, which means there's a bit of 'squeezing' into spots if folks come late. But aside from that, this was a far quieter spot than I imagined it would be for being so close to a main road and the airport - and on a Friday night.
We arrived around 5:30 PM and there was still space available. However, there was roadwork, so the entrances were difficult to find. The two toilets were very clean. There was a bit of noise from the road, but it was fine. The dump station was okay.
We arrived at six o’clock in the evening and still had plenty of options for seating. The toilets are clean and lighted enough. In the nearby swimming pool you can take a warm shower for $5 per person.
Really convenient since it’s right next to the Public Dump Station. Since we’re travelling in June-Winter it wasn’t busy at all, and there were plenty of the allocated camping zones left by night time. Very close to a Subway, KFC and fuel station. :-)
I did not stay cause it was already full by 6pm when I arrived, which several campers circuling around. Stayed at Lyall bay and had no issues there.
Arrived at 1700 and no spots. Tried several times after to no avail. If you manage to get a spot here buy a lottery ticket as you're clearly very lucky!
The grounds are kept clean including the two toilets located near to the camp parking. You only get to park in a quarter of the parking site and it gets filled up around 6pm but you can always swing in and try your luck past this time. You really don’t hear people, planes or cars at night and it being compact with everyone here makes it less windy too. Only thing to note is the fresh water tap does not fit most camper water adapters so you can’t get fresh water in your tank sadly!
Arrived with the last Interislander ferry at 1.30 am - no spot left. We parked at Lyall bay, plenty of space along the road.
