Stayed here in early August, and still had quite a few vans. If you want one of the level spots right on the beach, then arrive early. Beautiful views across the lake. By the road, but did not hear any traffic noise. Toilets clean, and some phone signal. Definitely recommend.

On the banks of the lake. Plenty of space in winter. There’s an entrance and an exit so no need to turn around. Just be careful as the banks of the lake can be soft to park which will create an issue leaving. Quiet place 45 minutes from Queenstown. Great stop on the way to Milford Sound.

Pulled in here but chose not to stay. It had attracted people that give Freedom Camping a bad name. While the site was less than half full, the rubbish bins were overflowing, the toilets stank (very very badly) & clothes & rubbish was strewn across the site, over trees etc. A real shame that people can't be more respectful because the location is stunning with lots of capacity.

Incredible views over the lake if you get there early enough to park there. We got there a bit before 5pm and it was nearly full. Do people don’t listen to the signs. Good service and quiet. Would defo stay again. Helpful it had bins too!

Beautiful spot with awesome views for a free campsite. Bathrooms were clean (a bit smelly). There was a lot of space when we arrived around 6pm and registered. I had perfectly fine phone service but my boyfriend did not. Would recommend this place for sure.

Great location facing the lake, several spaces scattered around, fills up quickly. Registration on DOC is required. Toilets are clean but have a nauseating odor (a mixture of feces and chemicals) that is unbearable.

Beautiful location for a night! Make sure to arrive with some daylight as some of the spots can get muddy and we watched one van get stuck. Has vault toilets which was nice as I expected no amenities. Definitely recommend!!
