The carpark was moved 3 km further because of the damages from last year. There are some heavy vehicles around and those 3 km is basically just walking on the road. Then the track itself is fine, it’s passable without any significant problems (unless during heavy rain), just note there are many fallen trees and rocks. We stayed in Hidden Falls Hut and Alabaster and then came back. Both are really beautiful, but heaps of sandflies everywhere ??
Nice hike we went to Albaster slept and returned the next day in the rain but bcp of charm!
Not too bad but we've seen better
A beautiful track if you can get beyond Alabaster Hut. Primarily walking in deep oozing wet bush, but further out you get views of the Darren mountains from the lake and may even meet Bruce- a local who lives in the bush, incredibly knowledgeable, kind man who will take you around and his boat!
We did the first part of the track until the hidden falls hut, it was 2 h30min, easy track. We also slept in the hut, which was clean and cosy
