Walk of approximately 1h30 possible for intermediate climbers. Breathtaking view. Very beautiful spot for magnificent photos.

10km pretty decent gravel road to get there. It's a nice scenic drive over high tide bridges. Only the last 500m to the start of the track was a bit stony. I would still consider it twice with a big camper since the road is somewhat narrow and there are surprisingly many cars driving on it. With a van it was no problem at all. The first "hour" of the walk is a steady but very pleasant climb on an old logging road, which is today more like a path in forest. You get some nice views on the way. The climb to the summit is really muddy (at least this time of the year) and wet, but otherwise not too hard. The only thing is the wind, which you should be aware of and turn back before the summit if it's too heavy, so that you won't get blown off the top!

Really amazing during sunset and high tide! Easy track, 1hr to go up. Only the last 1km is steep, the rest an easy walk on an old logging track (so not really a trail). It was there alone

Would avoid in bad weather... Not too great unless you have a clear day to see the view. Make sure it’s high tide too :)

Great hike and the first in NZL where we didn’t meet another single person! Smooth track, just the last 15 minutes a bit stronger uphill, but so rewarding with this awesome view! Spent about 3,5hours in total including a nice lunch brake on top

Go around high tide for a much more picturesque drive. At the car park there is an information board with a map.

Last 10km to the carpark are on a gravel road. Very nice hike. Always uphill but not that tough. Last 15 minutes uphill are a bit more difficult but the view is amazing ! We also saw wild goats. So cute ! If you are nearby, go for it. The track is totally worth it !

Absolutely worth the hike! Its not really a hard one, took me about 2.15 hours (circle) :) the view over the inlet is pretty nice. Saw wild goats on the track but no people, its definitely not crowded! Enjoyed it and I would recommend it :)

Uphill the whole way! Bring extra water. We took the knuckle hill turn off from the Kaituna trek. Round trip took us about 3 hours. Excellent views, worth the hike! Avoid on very windy days as you are very exposed on the top of the world! Best views are during high tide, because the whole inlet drains at low tide.

Hard to find, when you arrive you have to write your name on a notebook and off you go. MY MOST BEAUTIFUL TRACK in nz. I did it in February 2016 I have seen no one and the view is fantastic. Bring your picnic with you and it will be great!
