A welcoming and lovely place to camp. Very tidy grounds and facilities with plenty of space to park up. Be ready for all the chickens! They're full of character and make the place. Other farm animals there too who look well cared for. Would definitely come back again as it's a peaceful spot and the owners are friendly.

Very expensive for what's offered. The facilities are aging but clean. The only pluses are the peace and quiet and the animals.

Peaceful basic campground with the sound of the river and lots of wildlife as well as farm animals. Kids really enjoyed all of the chickens roaming free with many chicks at the moment. Did find a little overpriced in comparison to similar campgrounds.

Quirky. A little overpriced ($70+ for an unpowered campervan site). Flushing toilets, hot showers and a good kitchen set up. Main attraction is the free-range animals: alpacas, huge sheep, chickens, guinea fowl, peacocks, ducks., a dog and a cat... Our children loved it.

I had a 10/10 experience here. Was the only camper for four days. The father son duo who run the cafe and campground were so welcoming and friendly. I was greeted by tons of animals running free. I got to stay for a few nights extra as long as I helped feed all the animals. It was a great experience as a solo female traveler. They also have a beautiful thermal walk along the backside of the property! Although it’s winter, I would recommend!!

We can highly recommend this place. We had a fantastic stay, our kids enjoyed being sorrounded by animals; cats, a dog, lots of birds, Alpacas, sheeps and pigs. The facilities might not be the newest but this place has soul. We really enjoyed the calm atmosphere and felt welcome from the beginning. The owner was very kind and helped us if needed. We would have Stayed more than 2 nights if we had more time in NZ.

About twice as expensive as it should be. We payed around $70 for an unpowered spot. This is the most we’ve payed for any campsite during our stay so far. Kitchen was fine. Bathroom and toilets very simplistic/run down. We’d been looking forward to getting a hot shower in the morning but the water was down. It was quite a challenge to reach the owner, and although she was very apologetic, we got the impression that the waterproblem was a regular occurance.

If you are into Farmanimals (especially birds); please go here. It is very peaceful, full of chicken, ducks, peacocks and other birds! All with babies at the moment, and they casually stroll around your camper/tent. Owner very friendly and a lot of birdsounds coming from the bush. Lake very close. Not the newest facilities, but Who cares.

Very friendly owners, but very expensive for what you get (Β£75 for 1 night, powered Campersite). Toilets and showers not very fresh and clean.

This is by far the best camp site in NZ! We stayed here twice. The vibe is extremely laid back. Farm animals are roaming the camp ground and somehow this has a relaxing effect on all who stay on this cozy, little campground. Highly recommended.
