Great Spot with a nice playground. I love the swinging bridge and the historical walks. Great place to unwind and relax.
Beautiful space. Really quiet and stunning skies at night. Toilets and sinks are great - and remarkably free of vans so plenty of space even for late arrivals. Please use the honesty box (15 dollars ppn) and help these places keep going.
Fantastic community run campground. We stayed one night between Christmas and New Year and the site was very busy with NZ families camping. There were no rental campervans! I guess it is not on the route to any of the major attractions so it doesn't get the tourists. Fees are 15 dollars per person per night paid into an honesty box. The hotel across the road does a range of takeaway foods. We thoroughly recommend this campgrounds
Amazing spot! Great swimming spots. Plenty of space. Awesome walks nearby to explore. Flushing toilets in great condition and readily available drinking water, rubbish and recycling facilities and BBQs. Kids playground was well used too! Pub across the road from the entrance is awesome for beers/drinks/hot chips/ice creams/supplies. Payment is on a trust based system. Loved our stay at this awesome place. Highly recommend.
Lovely campground. Good facilities, clean toilets, great for families with the playground. We were able to find a more secluded spot under the trees facing the river. This was Sat night so more people than during the week. We paid and used the dump facilities as well. Wifi worked fine
When we first arrived it seemed like the perfect campground. This ended as soon as this big Hori Riders bogans group showed and started blasting their music without any consideration for anyone. Then another group just started doing the same, with their local friends showing on loud ass dirt bikes, going back and forth to the bathroom on their bike. There's a contact name for the place, but no phone number or any way to contact. Ruined our camping night. People were leaving the campground.....
Really nice alternative to the crowded freedom campsites in Greymouth. Lots of space. Flushing toilets were okay. 10$ pp plus 5$ dumping fee, payment based on trust. Extended children’s playground and a lovely river in which you can take a refreshing swim.
Awesome place to stay - close to greymouth. Great walks close by . Fresh water and toilets onsite - very inexpensive ?
Great spot but there was noisy drunken campers when we were there which was a bit of a downer - love music but hearing other peoples tunes over our own is a bit rubbish. Facilities are good though, playground for the kids, outdoor kitchen, loos, rubbish.
One of the best casual sites. Thank you DOC. Gorgeous river to lounge in, plenty of place right now (only three vans here and room for 40 or more) and clean flush loos. Epic!
