This is no doubt the best camping spot we have been at so far. Everything, whether it was the community room or the toilets, was super clean. Richard, the host, created a family atmosphere so that everyone felt welcomed and comfortable at the place. There were showers for 2$ and even a cooking area with a roof. All that for just 18$ pp 💸 We ended up staying 3 nights. Definitely worth it.
Super small campsite at $18 per night. The hot shower is at $2 per 4min. Ideally located next to the beach. Very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful landscape
I very much enjoyed this campsite. One of the best in my month of camping ! Viv and Ray were very welcoming. Viv told me about some hikes and both hikes were lovely and right from the campground . The vib here is wonderful and there were even fresh cut flowers on display. Lots of welcoming touches and so appreciated. I would definitely come back!
Loved this campground. Our hosts were so friendly and kind, lovely community vibes, beach right there, BBQ for hire and good clean facilities. Could have stayed for ages if we’d had the time. Built in alarm clock in the form of some friendly Kea 😂 Butch the dog was an excellent bonus feature.
The welcome was incredibly warm and the common areas are fantastic. My pitches aren't large, but they're perfect for one night, each with its own little outdoor table. The walk along the Tirg and the lagoon is amazing!!
This is the best camp we've stayed in so far. It's got nice hosts, nice grass area for a tent, great facilities (including coin operated showers), kitchen shelter and sort of a common room shelter. We were so glad to be here on a rainy day!
Very cute community campground in a great location - trig walk is a must, and try to catch the sunset on the beach! Such a warm welcome by our hosts Mick and Bernadette!
Super sweet hosts and great family atmosphere yet quiet and can hear the beach. Picnic tables at every spot and some sense of privacy with the bushes. Clean bathrooms & showers. The paid hot showers run hot and good pressure. Shared refrigerator, freezer and a pavilion with wind shelter where you can cook if needed. Beach is a short walk and you can do fires on the beach with no permit but no swimming. Paid BBQ grills as well. Got pretty full by 6:30pm.
Great little spot. Simple & clean facilities. Good value. We were in a caravan - got a nice grassy spot which had enough room to put up the awning. Loved the bird life - so many tuis and keas. We lit a bonfire on the beach at sunset. Kids swam in the lagoon. The trig walk has beautiful views - worth the walk up! The local sandfly repellent is worth buying - better than what you buy at the shop.
Exceptional welcome in a charming and unspoiled setting. The sites are very large, the campground is equipped with pleasant hot showers ($2) and clean toilets. A 2-minute walk to the beach and beautiful hiking trails. $36 for 2 people, utilities not included.
