Such a beautiful spot, the animals are so friendly and there’s running water (needs boiled), a toilet, multiple seating areas and plenty of space.
Just us and the farm animals tonight. Pleasant spot.
If you love animals this is the paradice. We pet pigs, sheep and even cows (the one with horns)! The are all friendly. Dry toilet is ok and there is a sink where you can wash hand or dishes. I just loved it here. P.s. Yes, animals also makes poo.
What place! Magnificent! The volunteer farmer has a very good sense of humor. He shared his passion with us in the early morning. We fed the animals. A moment engraved in our memories. Perfect with children. The animals are sweet and come to us. You will have a welcome! The dry toilets were spotless. For $ 16 a night, it's worth it. Online booking.
Lovely little area. Camped here and was only us for the night. Lots of animals around, very friendly. Kune kune pigs, turkeys, lots of different breeds of chickens, ducks, sheep and cows! Went for a walk through the paddocks. Cows very friendly! Toilet was a compost one so don’t expect 5* but it does the job!! Little room with running water for washing hands and dishes but needs boiling if for drinking as from a nearby stream. Sat outside late at night and watched the stars! Lovely spot. Best place camping spot we’ve stayed at in North Island. Be warned though, lots of poo! And pay! Council attendant turned up at 9pm to shut gates and check our permit.
Really amazing spot! Toilets not stinky at all, operational farm so the odd cow pat here and there... But lovely ground to camp on... Lots of flat areas! Amazing view and close to small cafe/foodstore if you need. Not far to Karamatura falls :)
Really a cool experience. The toilets are really fine and the old farmer really nice, has fed with us his cows and brought the sheep to another meadow.
DO NOT DRIVE ON THE GRASS IF WET!!! Got stuck with the van and it took us 3 hours and local with a pick up van to get out of the deep mud.. ? There's only a little stinky toilet and a sketchy house with water. Generally a pretty dirty campsite, but totally okay for a night and a pretty amazing view. Other than that only stay if you are fine with a lot of turkeys, pigs and chicken walking around you. We also met Carl who feeds the animals and is a total legend! Say Hi if you meet him!
Sweet kunekune piggies and lots of other farm animals
Very nice place to spend the night among the animals of the farm. Just a dry toilet and a room with tables, chairs and sink. Nice to spend the evening and eat.
