We arrived fairly late, around 6:45 just before the park gates closed (7pm during winter) and there was still lots of parking. Nearly got attacked by a swan at night, but otherwise all good! Grass gets pretty soggy, we saw tracks where another vehicle had gotten stuck. Bathrooms were across the road near the beach, and just fine. Very quiet, except for the pūkeko :)
Very nice place with toilets near the parking lot. For $22 per night I find that it is not bad. Attention, however, in the period of heavy rain this place can very quickly become dangerous for vehicles.
Beautiful camping. With planty of space for campers. Near beach, clear toilet, cold tap and fountain water. Good signal. Two gates with code that you will get after booking. Go to hike it's really amazing area to explore.
Beautiful, quiet camping spot with only a few other campervans during our stay, good signal. Great value for money, we liked it so much we stayed a second night.
Looked like a good place to camp. If there is heavy rain forecasted, don't book as it floods. I came during heavy rain and had to turn back as it was soggy ground. Good location though.
Hello, I think I lost my bank card in the name of Nicolas Plahiers at this campsite. I was parked at the back on the left when entering. Here is my number if you find it: +33621485841. Thank you all
Calm, nature, simply perfect. The walks around are ideal for observing nature and birds.
Simply perfect! A few meters away is a beautiful beach with a view of the Auckland skyline. It's worth the walk to the lookout for the sunset.
First night camping in the motor home and what a lovely site. Open grasslands close to the beach for an evening stroll. Didn’t see any kiwi but there were protected dotterel on the beach. Gate code needed for entry/exit - shame they changed the code early the next day (by 9.30) as thought we might be stuck there for the month 🤣 - fortunately one of the other users had the code. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful place to stay, we spent 3 nights there, there was hardly anything going on. Opposite is a public area where many come to picnic on the weekend. There is also a public toilet there. We had a very nice walk there and also enjoyed the beautiful beach. A place to enjoy, even if just a van parking lot. Self-contained is mandatory there. Important to know, there is a lock with a numerical code for the gate, see email - will also be changed.
