Late October - arrive before 6pm for a spot. We arrived 5:30 with 5 spots left, all filled by 6pm. Unfortunate because you can’t checkin until 8pm anyways so the checkin feature is useless. Nearby rec centre is friendly, $5.5 showers and public toilet. Drinking water fountain outside. Overall fairly quiet. Walking distance to the supermarket

Full by 7pm Showers available at the swimming pool complex for $5.50 Surprisingly beautiful view for a carpark

Only 18 spots while the parking is huge and I'm not sure that we disturb the night .. (self Contained in any case) We were kicked out in the middle of the night because we were no longer in an “authorized parking” spot, no other spots available Had to find another one at 23h ..

More than 4 seats at 7 p.m. Departure at 7 p.m. to avoid the risk of a fine. Recreation center toilet very clean and open until 9 p.m. Quiet and beautiful views of the mountains

Just a carpark so obviously spaces are tight and there’s some road noise but still in Wanaka so beautiful Mountain View’s! Spaces were full way before 8pm so we had to break the rules too and get there earlier, showers at the leisure centre currently $5.50

Completely full before 8pm but even if it wasn't, I would not have parked here as half the freedom camping spots were severely flooded! So avoid during heavy rain. Not to mention the poor, obscured signage. I am a kiwi and the poor signage really does feel like a way to trick tourists and dish out heavy fines. Do better Wanaka.

We arrived at 8pm on a Monday and all the designated spaces were already taken , there were several other camper vans randomly parked in the carpark who stayed the night and so we foolishly followed suit and received at 3am a 400$ fine. We arrived at 18h the next day and got the last spot. The place is nice enough but the spaces are quite tight for big vans . Be aware of fines DON’T risk it .

Great spot but filled up very quickly. A lot of camper vans arrived before 8pm. If your camper is a big like a motor home, this would be quite tight and the head is sticking out a lot, especially when it’s full. Ours was hiace so it was easy.

A great place to spend the night. It's the parking lot of the recreation center. Absolutely perfect for one night.
