Great spot but filled up very quickly. A lot of camper vans arrived before 8pm. If your camper is a big like a motor home, this would be quite tight and the head is sticking out a lot, especially when it’s full. Ours was hiace so it was easy.
A great place to spend the night. It's the parking lot of the recreation center. Absolutely perfect for one night.
A great spot that feels very safe. Lots of other vans there even in winter. Make sure to check you’re in an allowed space - it’s a bit confusing where the spaces end. Close to a cheap service station and walking distance to a huge supermarket!
Three spots is okay, but why the hell is nobody checking in? If you would do, you‘ll help others not to spend wasted time in driving there
Safe spot to park! But oh my goodness get there early as it’s busy and it’s suuuper tight to park.
Great space near shops and pool. However, spaces fill up way before 8pm which is unfair if you are trying to respect the rules. Dont park in any other space than the blue lines or you will get a ticket.
We were able to get a parking spot here for one night. The toilets and showers at the recreation center are very clean and available until closing time. They also have free Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, we were next to a very disruptive person all evening and night (he was shouting and throwing things in his camper), so we didn't have the best night, but apart from that, I think everything else was fine.
I arrived late, tired, and didn't read the QR code registration information; as a result, I received a 400 NZD fine 🫠
Sign says do not check in until AFTER 8pm but all locations were full before 6pm. Mostly full of vans, etc that may or may not be “self contained”. Online availability states many more spots than are actually available. Nobody checks in online. Do not waste your time going here.
We tried on our first night and arrived at 6pm (as mentioned) but completely full. Saw the previous review about arriving at 3pm and managed to get a space for two nights arriving at this time both times. By 3:30pm all spaces were filled. Several vans parked in the incorrect spots but not sure if they got fined. There was a responsible campers car parked pretty much the entirety of the time, and did fine a car for not being self contained. Two portaloos adjacent and easy 30 min walk into town
