Overall, it was a decent place to stay with basic facilities. We paid NZ$40 for two people for a non-powered site. The campsite also has quite a few long-term residents. The hot shower system could be improved. You need to press the button outside the bathroom to activate the hot water first. It then turns off automatically after a few minutes, so you need to step out of the shower and press it again. A longer hot water time would be more convenient, especially in cold weather.

After 6 weeks of motorhoming NZ we came across this gem. Bronwyn gave us a lovely welcome and this site is superb. Short walk to the beach and river, with the added bonus of fresh fruit ice cream being sold in the car park. New Zealand you are a wonderful place we will miss you xx Andrea and Paul UK

Friendly and welcoming reception. Very quiet campsite mainly with permanent residents. Clean facilities (toilets, showers, kitchen).

We arrived after 6pm and the office was closed. It was no problem at all to pay the morning after. Really nice staff and clean facilities. Paid 36$ for 2 person.

Shower, kitchen and 24hours WiFi is included with the price, 18 NZD per person, which we appreciated. It’s a short walk to the beach where you can find boysenberries and peaches on the side of the path. This was our favorite campsite on the South Island because of the cheap price, kind staff, beautiful location and facilities included.

This was fine for a night before we returned our camper. The kitchen/bathroom facilities are new and well kept. However the shower’s are very difficult to regulate the temperature. This is a mobile home community, so it seems weird to be in their space. The bottom end of the campground is super sketchy.

Very friendly staff, close location, facilities are super clean. We would highly recommend this campground.

Niet reserveren via de website, maar gewoon bellen of ze plek hebben. Reuze aardige 'babysitters' 🤭 Ws ouders van de eigenaars. De vader spreekt NL, zijn vrouw gewoon Engels. Fijne camping, relaxe sfeer, met short cut naar de rivier en het strand. Doen !
