Staying here for the weekend. Not the first time. The amenities are great - the showers are no extra cost and excellent pressure. Friendly and helpful staff. Awesome swimming beach which is the main drawcord for us.
Old, untidy, uncomfortable, no charm, no places in the shade. Lots of long-term campers
We loved this spot. Great host at counter! Quiet and clean. Close to beach to walk, hot showers and laundry area
If you have children who can enjoy a bit of independence then this site would be OK. 95% of caravans look like they never leave the site and they have many regulars staying. So much so that strangers are stared at. You almost expect to hear a banjo playing somewhere. The site is safe for kids, as is the adjoining pine woods where children make dens and tyre swings. Through the woods is a vast bay of sand and sea, absolutely great location. BUT the facilities are shockingly lacking!!!
50$ for an unpowered site and not 19$ because “it’s the summer peak”. I can’t believe it! I went in an other place.
A large campsite close to the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The kitchen and toilets at the back were closed. I was able to switch to another site without any problems. The kitchen area was a bit newer , unfortunately there are no plates, cups, pots etc. Showers cost extra ( 1$ for 6min)
Nice quiet campground for one or two nights, close to beach.
The perfectly level site was a bonus on this charming reasonably priced campsite. A really lovely family vibe with many returning generational families who were welcoming and very friendly. Facilities clean and basic some dated but we enjoyed it. Access to the beach and estuary was easy and the pine forest is an adventure land for kids.
Great spot near the beach and estuary walks, and fish & chip shop. Our spot was lovely and quiet although the 'scenery' wasn't great with a few old permanent caravans in poor state and untidy sites, and not much grass. Nearest shower block doesn't have doors on the cubicles only another set of shower curtains, and are very small so some juggling is required to get yourself clean and dry, however they are clean, as is the kitchen. Great spot for kids to explore the forest. We met several long time returnees, great atmosphere Recommended.
“Thank you for your comments. The area you were in is very sandy and we've not had much success with establishing grass on some of the sites. We have another shower block not much further that does have doors on the showers. However, the best water pressure is in the old shower block, and we have plans for refurbishment over the next couple years. We appreciate your comments about the atmosphere. We love the culture that has developed here, thanks to our lovely returning campers and our friendly staff. Thanks for the recommendation”
Had our first trip in our first caravan here last night.. 40min from home but kids loved it an easy couple mins walk to the beach.. Facilities all good and what you would expect, clean etc.. We will be back for an easy laid back weekend from home with the kids again ??
“Thank you for your comments. We love seeing our families relax and have a great time”
