I had a very bad feeling and decided to leave. I paid for a power side but they gave me one without. I had to go back to reception to be told, "There are power side over there behind the pool." I couldn't find it right away because, to me, it looked like a vacant lot, not a pitch. Once I parked, the year-round residents kept giving me strange looks. I went to check out the kitchen and the restrooms, and that was the last straw. Everything was absolutely filthy. I left after that.
Do not go here. Especially not if you’re a solo traveler.
It's not a pretty spot. It's old-fashioned and nestled among the old caravans and permanent residents of the park. It's remote, and we were given a spot next to a caravan that had been there for a long time. It had a bit of an odd vibe, too.
It's old, and there are many permanent residents and old caravans. It's a bit out of the way and doesn't really feel like a pleasant place.
it’s cheap and the showers are clean. But this place is a bit spooky. Would not recommend for solo travel.
Big site with hot shower and flushing toilet.
We stayed here multiple rainy days in our car and everything was fine. Multiple private showers and clean bathroom facilities. The kitchen had a weird smell, but it was enough to charge our phones and cook in the evening. We paid for per night (for two people). There's an extra charge for wifi ($5 for 10 GB/24 hrs) which was fast and good. Even though we camped on grass for multiple rainy days, we didn't have a problem with getting stuck. There's some stuff to do in rangiora (good laundromat if you don't wanna use the one in camp, sushi, seccond hand shops, PaknSafe, New world, Farmers, The Warehouse...) and it's only half an hour away from Christchurch :)
We are staying here a second time. We stayed in an A Frame cabin. Everything is adequate. The only negative is that the kitchen is not very clean. I’d recommend using your own cooking utensils but otherwise it’s fine.
Location and staff are nice. Kitchen and sanitary is good and clean. Bud unfortunately not w/kitchen tools equipped (!). WiFi is very slow(!) even you buy the extra 5$-flat rate.... D&R
