Avoid this campsite. They’ve turned off Google reviews so you can’t see negative reviews, which I’m sure there are many of. The female owner was confrontational, accusing us of leaving a mess in the kitchen, which was shocking as we are very tidy people. It was very unprofessional and rude. The property has dozens of restrictive signs posted everywhere micromanaging guest behaviour. The owner also stated that they watch guests via CCTV, which felt intrusive.
We really enjoyed this campsite. The toilets and showers were clean. The kitchen was very well-equipped. The Wi-Fi wasn't excellent, but it worked perfectly. NZ$38 for 2 people (1 campervan & 1 night) for an unpowered site.
most rudest owner/person i have ever crossed paths with during my whole 6 months in new zealand. never have i ever had such an unpleasant experience like i did on this campground. I would've never thought something like this is possible in this beautiful country, where the people were so welcoming and friendly until now. Anyways, i tried to stay as nice as possible which was met with even more rude behaviour. long story short, we left and didn't use the site i already had paid in full.
Very friendly owner. Amazing kitchen: no need to bring your own utensils. No extra charge for showers. Reasonable prices. Thank you so much for a lovely short stay.
It feels like your presence is disturbing the owners. It starts with a huge sign at the entrance stating that there are no public toilets. Countless other prohibition signs are scattered throughout the area. Large parts of the place are under video surveillance. We didn't feel comfortable.
Fantastic campsite. Well-maintained facilities, friendly staff and very peaceful.
Easy Check in, everything was nice and tidy.

Long story short. Was taking a quick 5 min shower after a long drive, owner Lady M barges into the men's toilet (I am fully in my birthday suit) yelling and swearing about the my shower being more than 5 mins (definately wasn't). Starts going on about how everythings wet in the bathroom (didn't know I was showering in a bedroom?). Says free wifi but turns it off after 11pm. All in all, shes lucky we're only staying one night and not getting sued. Would not recommend to anyone.
We were there for one night and were harassed with instructions on how to behave right from the start. Outside the camper you felt like you were constantly being watched and checked. We didn't feel welcome, but rather constantly prejudged. We were happy to be away again in the morning. Even when we go to the toilet there are still instructions about where we should do what. Furthermore, you are instructed to direct the gray water onto the lawn and not to dump it. I don't think it's right.
