Wouldn't recommend if under 70 years of age. Very old age campsite with lots of permanenet residents. we stayed as group in the white zone and had noise complaints as we played cards outside. faciltiies are great but we didnt enjoy the old vibe. mini golf here $6 and is very tricky so that was fun!
“Hi there, thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed the facilities and had fun with the mini golf. We’re sorry to hear the atmosphere didn’t quite match what you'd hoped for. As a holiday park, we welcome a wide range of guests year-round. At this time of year, we do tend to see more travellers and “empty nesters” enjoying a quieter stay, which can mean our team needs to step in if neighbouring guests are seeking a more peaceful environment. During peak season, the park is often much livelier, with many families and a more energetic vibe. Camping also comes with shared spaces, so we do encourage all guests to be mindful of those around them, as experiences can vary depending on neighbours and timing. For guests looking for a bit more privacy or fewer noise considerations, we do offer a range of roofed accommodation options that might suit better next time. We appreciate you sharing your perspective and hope you might consider staying with us again in the future. Kind regards, the TBHP Team”
If you have lots of kids, need someone to provide entertainment for them and enjoy being crammed in like sardines, this is for you. Or if you don’t mind paying for a camping spot and then have have random people just parking on it cos they can’t be bothered to walk, enjoy.
“Thank you. Safe travels from all the team at Tahuna”
A very nice campsite on the beachfront, especially because of the fantastic sunset view. However, the toilets and showers vary greatly – many are very outdated, small, and in poor condition, while only a few are very modern. Wi-Fi is limited to 1 GB!
Lovely site - great view of the coastline. Very clean sites, bathrooms and hot water. Reception team very friendly. Free unlimited wifi now :)

I've been to countless campsites, and I find it unbelievable that this one doesn't have free Wi-Fi and you have to pay for it when you're already paying a hefty price. I give it a 5 out of 10. The other services are very good, although there's no control whatsoever over visitors. No security at the campsite. Many things need improvement. I've even seen homeless people showering because they're from out of town.
Nice independent holiday park only 5 kms from Nelson .Huge area with various areas to stay in a van or caravan or pay extra to stay in a cabin . Nice lounge and kitchen area in White zone only with sky Tv and another tv lounge and games room to use .$25 a nite for unpowered site very reasonable price as views of beach and short walk via pathway to beach .Wi fi was Ok 1 gb free or $2:/ a day but slow for downloads My 2 ND visit in 2 weeks as traveling will return .
“Kia ora and thank you for your review, we appreciate it and look forward to welcoming you back again soon!”
We stayed at Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park with our 14m caravan setup and had no trouble navigating the park. The sites are spacious, level, and many have stunning beach views. It’s perfect for a quick stop or a longer stay — we ended up extending ours! The location is unbeatable, right on the Great Taste Trail, making it easy to bike or walk into Nelson or Richmond. Facilities are clean, well-maintained, and include everything! TASMAN TRAVELS
“Kia ora Tasman Travels :-) Many thanks for your kind words and providing us with your feedback, we really appreciate it. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again soon! Happy travels from the whole team at TBHP”
Campsite is huge - we stayed in the white zone powered site - it was $69. Bathrooms were clean and showers were hot and plenty of hot water with good pressure. Huge shared kitchen facility with amenities and tv lounge space. Not far from a lovely beach. Well managed site with nice staff - food in the cafe was nice. No sand flies! Very nice but on the pricier side. WiFi is limited but phone signal was good
“Hi there, Thank you so much for your lovely feedback! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay in the White Zone and appreciated our clean facilities, hot showers, spacious kitchen, and friendly team. It's great to know the beach, café, and peaceful, sand fly-free environment added to your experience! We do understand your thoughts on pricing and WiFi limitations, and we’re always working to ensure our guests receive the best possible value and connectivity during their stay. We hope to welcome you back to Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park again soon! Warm regards, The Tāhuna Beach Team”
It was okay, the bathrooms are old but generally clean. The park is huge but beautifully situated by the sea. In our opinion, however, it's too expensive for what you get.
“Kia ora, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with us. We're pleased you enjoyed the beautiful seaside location and the spaciousness of our park — with nearly 100 years of history, Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park is a special place, and we’re proud to be part of its ongoing story. We understand your comments about the bathrooms and want to reassure you that we’re continuously investing in upgrades across the park. Given the size of the property and the age of some of our infrastructure, improvements take time — but they are happening. Regarding pricing, we regularly review our rates and strive to remain competitive. Many of our guests feel we offer great value for the experience and facilities available, though we completely appreciate that perceptions of value can vary depending on personal expectations and past stays elsewhere. Thanks again for your feedback — it’s really helpful as we continue working to improve the experience for all our visitors. Warm regards, The Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park Team We appreciate your comments regarding the bathrooms and pricing. While our team works hard to maintain cleanliness and provide a welcoming environment,”
This was a very large site, and although not most tightly packed and pitches marked out the open plan nature of the site meant people walked across the pitch we were on. There is easy beach access. Kitchen compact but clean
