Just a parking lot, safe area, a lot of space, gets busy in the morning and toilets very close.
Fine as a stopover for a night, public toilets were close by and clean. Lovely backdrop of the river!
Great place on a parking lot. Enough for as much as 10-20 campers (depending on the number of parked cars) view of the lake. Very clean toilets (3) present!
Really Dodgy people around. Terns getting drunk and hanging around the toilets. Felt very unsafe and scared to walk alone at night (female solo traveler). The place itself is okay. No official freedom camping but just a large carpark. Nice benches next to the water tho
I had a great sleep here. Town was empty by afternoon so everything was quiet. Quite a few vans but so much room! But of a walk down the Main Street to toilets, one of them has water outside too. I had a great sleep but partner was woken by people being a bit loud, someone driving around loudly and beeping, then we were woken by a siren (either tsunami test or for volunteer firemen?) so not the best but also not the worst! Felt safe especially as there was a lot of us there.
Quiet spot, plenty of parking, no limit. Okay toilets nearby. There's a sign on the toilets saying "no camping," but that only applies to the other small parking area and the grass. Police officers drove by in the evening and confirmed I could stay in the main parking lot. Woolworths and a petrol station are right next door. 👍
Quiet parking lot with plenty of space, picnic benches and well maintained toilets.
ONLY THE LARGE CAR PARK FOR SLEEPING. Very good network. No problems at night. Clean and nearby toilets. A few backpackers there last night. I don't think there's a limited number of spaces or a limit on the number of nights either.
Park in the large parking area; it's a quiet spot with plenty of spaces. There's a sign by the restrooms saying overnight camping isn't allowed, but I think that only applies to the smaller parking area. The restrooms are always open and clean. The parking lot is right next to a gas station and Woolworths. A good place to spend the night.
Plenty of space to park and toilets nearby. Nice picnic benches along the waterfront. Right in the centre of town. Felt safe with a few other vans around.
